About Me

My journey as a performing artist began at the age of 13, when I auditioned for the school musical. As a kid with some pretty severe social anxiety, I was only willing to audition because my friends were doing so (sometimes peer pressure can be beneficial). I remember opening night, the rest of the cast kept commenting on having butterflies in their stomachs. I checked in with myself: I felt surprisingly calm. Comfortable. Confident. It was a fantastically new and exciting sensation. I knew then that I had found my home.

I quickly fell head-over-heels in love with the art of theatre, and filled all of my spare time up with learning about every aspect of a theatrical production. I learned how to program lights, how to build sets, how to stage manage, direct, costume design, and beyond. I went on to earn my B.A. in Theatre Arts from University of the Pacific, with a concentration in Acting and Directing. During my time in college I completed an Acting Apprenticeship with SPARC Theater (formerly Livermore Shakespeare Festival), and after earning my degree I spent a season with Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park as a Bruce E. Coyle Acting Intern.

After completing my education, I began to dabble in acting on-camera. As a tried-and-true theatre actor, I was sure I'd always prefer the stage to the screen. And yet, quietly, I fell just as quickly for the unique and detailed dynamicism of acting for film. I filmed my first two features last fall (Dead Teenagers and The Exorcism of St. Patrick), projects that both challenged me deeply and filled me with warmth, joy, and gratitude.

Many years ago I abandoned the task of trying to create a "plan" for my career. I found time and time again that the more I surrendered to the unpredictable nature of life, the more enjoyable and fruitful life would be. I never expected to love living in NYC. I never expected to love film acting. I NEVER expected to start singing professionally. All these surprises came from following and trusting my gut impulses, and what enriching surprises they have been.

I have a cute little bucket list of dreams, of course - but more than anything, I'll be happy if I just get to keep making fun and challenging art with beautiful,  creative, and kind people.
